A New Generation of Butchery

Thrash Lab’s Subculture Club gives a renewed look at butchers and their trade in this short film.

As our society seeks out healthier and more respectfully harnessed produce, this film proves that the best food comes straight from the farm to the table. The film features butcher shops from the San Francisco Bay area like The Local Butchershop and 4505 Meats, showing a return to the simple life and support for the local food system.

This crop of new, young butchers are responding to the meat industry’s system of hormones and injections by taking part in a lifestyle that pays respect to both farmers and consumers.

Ryan Farr of 4505 Meats sums it up. “I just like to cut shit man… it makes people happy.”
