Bill Granger is a self-taught cook who was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia and grew up in a family of butchers and bakers.
He got started in the food industry at the age of nineteen after moving to Sydney where he worked as a waiter. He quickly moved into the kitchen and began to hone his cooking skills. In 1993, at just 22 years old, Granger opened his own restaurant, bills, in Darlinghurst, Sydney.
Fast forward almost two decades and Granger has built three bills locations in Australia, one in London and four in Japan. He hosts three popular television shows and has written numerous cookbooks, including his latest, Bill’s Everyday Asian.He even just opened a new restaurant, Granger & Co., in Notting Hill, London.
Though we have yet to visit a bills location, we’re hailing this Aussie friend an international favorite.
