Over the past couple of years, the burger has seen a surge in popularity. Even fine dining restaurants have been after the title of best burger, ushering it into a new culinary art form.
Specially selected meats, something smoked in house to accompany, homemade condiments and even the bun became something to obsess about. The burger has been interpreted and innovated in almost every way. But alas, like every trend, burgers took a back seat to whatever food trend came after it.
As the burger enjoyed its temporary retirement from the limelight, two eccentric French graphic designers, who were deeply passionate about burgers, had hardly forgotten about it. Quentin and Thomas had grown tired of boring lunch options, so what do two creative designers do when faced with such a dilemma? Play with their food of course. What started as a cooking experiment of combining the most unusual ingredients, like caviar and octopus, with their burgers soon evolved into something even greater. The project is titled Fat and the Furious Burgers and the designers have truly taken the burger where no man has gone before. Burger creations are inspired by everything from popular culture, iconic heroes and quirky movie references. But, even though I’m sure most would love to sink their teeth into a burger inspired by James Bond or Neil Armstrong, these are to be feasted upon by the eyes alone.
