
How many times has this happened to you. You’re sitting around with your friends in relative silence when one of you yells, drunkenly or not, “You know what we should do?! We should open our own [insert food related business here] !
But the moment of euphoria over how perfect and wonderful your particular little shop or whatever would be is usually followed by what some would call “reality” The fact that failure is a huge component of food related businesses.
I myself have encountered this. Wanting to open a coffee shop and searching the internet for information and inspiration, I stumbled upon an article optimistically titled “Why You *Shouldn’t* Open A Coffee Shop” To be fair, this article was written with the voice of experience and caution. But maybe if we aspiring “Foodie Entrepreneurs” stumbled upon articles such as this one we’d be a little more inclined to pursue our delicious food business dream in a realistic manner yes, but with a sense of optimism.
