Reuben Hills’ Dark, Bold Branding

Vintage photography and bold fonts make the brand identity for Reuben Hills a lesson in design.

Reuben Hills is a coffee roastery, cafe and brunch spot in the Surray Hills region of Sydney, Australia that recently had its branding design done by Luke Brown, a creative studio from Melbourne.

For the Reuben Hills identity, Luke Brown went with a bold, black font that defines the roastery and cafe’s serious knowledge of coffee. The designers then used a few vintage photographs of old machinery and regional landscapes to give Reuben Hills its character and history. We love the charmingly dark look that Luke Brown has given Reuben Hills.

Oh, and have a look at the Reuban Hills cafe itself. It was designed by Herbert Mason and its nothing less than incredible.
