Roy Choi is all about ambition, philosophy, motivation and, most importantly, food.
About three years ago, Roy Choi invaded Los Angeles, California with a fleet of food trucks that fused Korean and Mexican flavours in a way that no street food eater had ever tasted before. It was his creative cooking, like kimchi quesadillas, pork belly bowls and short rib tacos, and serious use of social media, like Twitter, that lifted Choi and his truck, Kogi, to street food fame. He has even won such praise as “the iconoclast who sparked LA’s mobile street food revolution”.
In this film, Alison Chernick rides around town with Choi discussing his food truck empire, his new restaurant, his spiritual connection to animals and the love and soul behind his food.
