Roped into Doug Johnston

Typically used as a fastener or tying tool, rope is something of a mundane material.

Craftsman Doug Johnston would steadfastly argue against this statement.

Johnston’s pieces feature rope used as a building material, carefully coiled to create containers of all shapes, sizes and uses. Smaller platter-like pieces look as though they’d work well with a few peaches nestled within, while other options evoke images of firewood ready for burning. Johnston’s creations also come in bag form, providing perfect potential for farmers’ markets and grocery trips.
