Apples may be rounded and misshapen in nature but one artist has taken them under the knife.
Sakir Gökcebag is a Turkish artist and photographer living in Hamburg, Germany who is known for his large but minimalist art installations. He has used everything from toilet paper to umbrellas but we are, not surprisingly, most interested in the art he has created using apples, peaches, watermelons, beans and pomegranate seeds. Gökcebag has precisely sliced and diced apples to create circles, squares and other geometric shapes that defy the irregularity of nature.
