Sticky, Drippy Toffee Art

Artist Skye Kelly’s art display has to be the closest we can get to a real-life Willy Wonka Factory. Only in this case we are talking toffee.

When Kelly discovered that toffee deforms under the force of gravity she turned it into Creep, an intriguing work that was first displayed in Melbourne, Australia. She uses only an overhead structure and the sticky toffee, which drips slowly into a puddle on the gallery floor. The concept behind Kelly’s art is the evolution of the toffee as it changes from a warm liquid into toffee crystals, allowing the audience to observe the constant change of its appearance and form.

A unique art indeed, but how could anyone keep themselves from having a taste?
