When it comes to global change, Evan Marks is the man with a plan.
He is the founder of The Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano in Southern California- a local hub for ecological and green living. Formed in 2009, Marks designed the centre as a space to educate, empower and change perspectives about the environment.
With a few simple tools Marks believed anyone can change their impact on the environment. And so Tools for Change, an onsite general store designed by Paris based David Rager, was born.
The design of the general store is extremely unique from the typical ones were used to seeing these days. This one offers an interactive experience by educating shoppers on ways they can be more sustainable with the household goods they are purchasing.

We’re coveting the Country Wisdom Almanac and the Back Yard Skills Field Journal, which is made from 100 per cent recycled paper and is perfect for jotting down all those recipes for change.
Tools for change is open Saturday – Sunday, 11am – 3pm, and by reservation, Monday – Friday.
